The Lawyer representing Democrat Senator Bob Menendez for his corruption trial, was told to 'Shut Up' by the judge overseeing the case this week, after an argument concerning the Democrat Senator's previous request for special treatment in delaying the trial due to his position as a senator. U.S. District Judge William Walls refused the Senator's request to delay the trial last week responding "“The court will not serve as concierge to any party or lawyer, -- The motion – from a practical perspective – is nigh frivolous.” Judge Walls also said he suspected Menendez was attempting to "impress the jurors" by emphasizing his 'importance' in the request.
Democrat Senator Bob Menendez took bribes totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars from wealthy friend Dr. Solomon Melgen over the past decade, and then lied about it to the public, argue prosecutors in new court documents. Additional new information about the case has also revealed that former leader for Senate Democrats Harry Reid, approached the Obama White House about dropping an investigation to protect Melgen from facing charges after the doctor allegedly stole 8.9 million dollars from medicaid funding. The Obama aide which responded to Reid's request to cover up the scandal, said he refused to help, but it is unclear if Reid contacted others to meddle in the investigation as well.
