Torrential downpours were not enough to stop protestors from marching on the police station in Ferguson Monday afternoon. Six people were arrested at the intersection of West Florissant and Lucas & Hunt for failure to disperse. The arrests were made after a group of protesters failed to stop interrupting traffic and causing safety concerns.
13 other protesters were arrested at the Ferguson Police Department after protester told officers they wanted to be arrested and started to bumping into police officers shields, eventually forcing their way through the police line.
One of the protesters arrested was professor and activist Cornel West.
A press release from the Ferguson Police Department said in all 42 protesters were arrested in Monday’s demonstrations.
All of the protesters arrested have been charged with disturbing the peace and transported to Clayton for booking.
